Jean-Michel plays bass in a French heavy metal band, Gojira. "Bass in Gojira is almost like a 3rd guitar, staying rhythmically in sync with Mario on the drums while also hitting some harmonies with both of the guitar players," says Jean-Michel.

He added KHDK Abyss bass overdrive to his rig for the layer of precision and punch it adds to his sound: "It's the type of pedal I can dial in and leave on for the entire show," he explains. "I don't have many pedals in my setup, but the Abyss is definitely here to stay."

Gojira is a French heavy metal band, originally formed as Godzilla in 1996. The band's lineup consists of brothers Joe Duplantier (vocals, guitars) and Mario Duplantier (drums) as well as lead guitarist Christian Andreu and bassist Jean-Michel Labadie.
